This year the GatorMOG Spring Noggin will be held in conjunction with the Panhandle All British Car Show in Pensacola, FL – Saturday 27 April 2019. The show will be held at the historic Seville Square, Pensacola, FL. Several MOGSouth and GatorMOG members have attended this show in the past and give it rave reviews.
The biggest challenge really is getting there, and getting there in time for all the festivities. This show is NOT just for those from Florida. Everyone is invited and I have already heard from folks in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, as well as Florida. It looks to be a great turnout of Morgans, with all models represented, even 5 or so vintage trikes and number of new M3Ws.
There is a hotel, the Pensacola Grand, an historic hotel, that is in cahoots with the Car Club and has great rates for Car Show attendees. They are holding a number of rooms for the show weekend weekend of $125.00. There is plenty of parking there for trailers. (I intend to book 2 nights, Friday (26th) and Saturday (27th).) Make sure you tell them that you are with the ‘‘Panhandle British Car Association’.
So Register http://www.pbca1.com/show2019/showform2019.pdf
And, make your hotel reservation at the Grand. (200 East Gregory Street, Pensacola, FL 32501)
There will be a Friday afternoon (April 26th) tour of the Naval Aviation Museum. This is supposedly the best Aviation Museum in the USA, so it is not something to be missed. We will go in convoy, leaving the Grand Hotel parking lot at 11:00AM. The Naval Air Station in Pensacola is an active US Navy base. Visitors to the Museum who do not have a DoD ID card are required to enter and exit through the West Gate at the end of Blue Angel Parkway, NOT the main gate on Navy Blvd.
Here is a link to the Navy Museum’s website with instructions and directions: http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/attractions/plan-visit/
Following the Museum tour, there is a ‘Welcome Party’ for the car show, as I understand it, it is fancy buffet dinner with libations, etc. And, supposedly at no costs to us. The Friday dinner starts about 5:00.
The Welcome party and dinner will be held at The Museum of Commerce, 201 E Zaragossa St, Pensacola, FL 32502. This is very close to our new show location, Seville Square. The doors open at the Museum of Commerce at 5:00 pm with activities starting by 6pm. The entrance is the ramp door on the north side of the building.
Show is on Saturday at Historic Seville Square. The show opens about 9:00 with awards presented about 4:00. We will organize a Saturday dinner / noggin for the Morgan folks. More details to follow.
