International Morgan Day 2025

Ways our members celebrated International Morgan Day in 2025

Happy International Morgan Day

September 19th, or as the English might write it, 19/09 is an important date in Morgan history as on that date in 1909 HFS Morgan finished his first vehicle.   Thus, began a story of a small English factory that is still turning out hand-built cars today, 116 years later.   In 1909 Morgan wasn’t the first company to produce a sports car, but today, they are the last company to produce a true, hand built, wind in your hair, sports car.   The newest 4-wheel model to finally arrive on the shores of the USA after a 20 year hiatus, is the Plus Four model.  A smartly packaged, technologically up to date car that can hold its own against the best of soulless mass-produced brands on the road today.

The Florida Morgan Club, GatorMOG, gathered this noon for lunch and fellowship in Ormond Beach, Florida at the Ormond Beach Garage to celebrate.   The building that once bustled with the race cars that came to Daytona for time trials on the beach at the turn of the century now provides home to a great brewery and restaurant.   Frank, the manager made us feel at home.   We set up for a photo shoot in the courtyard.   Our Florida Morgan dealer, Christopher Silvestri, Christopher John Ltd. from Daytona Beach joined us.

As you can see from some of the photos one of our members, it is rumored, was able to back his Morgan up to the beer pump inside and fill his 50-gal tank hidden behind his seat for the trip home.   It sure put a smile on everyone’s face.

Hold the date on your calendar for next year!

I hope every Morgan owner got a chance to celebrate HFS.

Cheers all y’all

Not knowing the significance of the date I found myself in Malvern on the Friday. Amidst a gathering of fellow Morgan owners had just left to tour the area and a stop at Stoke Lacy. .Later that afternoon I headed to the AGM of the Morgan Three Wheeler Club .About 100 member’s were in attendance. I included my 1966 4/4 but elected to park it remotely with other like minded folks. The week l included a local low key vintage vehicle gathering .Three Morgan’s: one owner 1936 4/4 , 51 flat rad and my 66. Finally Friday’s treat was a visit to Shelsley Walsh for member’s day.For a minor fee and a bone dome one could drive the hill multiple times through the day. Perhaps 100 cars including 3 Mogs. 10 days of sunny weather was hard to imagine!
