Even if it accelerates much better than the original I imagine it weighs significantly more. It sounds as though the only things removed were the 1172cc sidevalve engine and fuel tank, so perhaps 200 lbs traded for electric motor, the water cooled controller and the batteries.
Everything in my barn and garage run on gas or diesel. I can’t imagine changing over this late in my life. Besides I’d wear out my lips trying to replicate internal combustion engine sounds while on the road!

Interesting, to keep the gearbox. It’s not for me, but I’d like to know the OA weight, front/rear weight, center of gravity, 0-60 mph, and top speed..
It’s just not the same without the smell and noise of the “petrol” engine.

I will hold on to my combustion cars as long as I can ( probably for the rest of my life)
I like everything except the range. Might be okay in UK with short distances but a real limitation here in US.
